Hello everyone, How are you all today? I hope you all are great. My name is ___________. I study in __________. Today, I am very glad to be here. First, I would like to thank my class teacher who encourage me to say a few words on Saraswati puja.
Honourable chief guest, principal, teachers, parents, and my sweet companions/friends. First of all, I would like to wish you all a very splendid Saraswati Puja.
I am here today to speak a few words about Saraswati Puja. As we all know very well that Maa Saraswati is the goddess of learning and music.
Saraswati Puja is one of the most important festivals celebrated by Hindus and It is also one of the most popular festivals of all the students.
It is a festival of the season change. It marks the end of the winter season and the arrival of the spring season.
It is celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Saraswati puja is celebrated in honour of the goddess Saraswati. She has a lot of names. Some people call her vidya ki Devi Vidyadayani and some call Hanshvahini, Maa Sharda etc.
According to the Hindu calendar, It falls every year on the 5th day of Magh (Vasant Panchami) that’s why it is also called Basant Panchami.
Saraswati puja is also known as Shree Panchami or Basanta Panchami. On this day, the idol of goddess Saraswati is worshipped.
The cultural programmes are held in schools, coachings and colleges. A lot of students worship the “deity of learning” during the festival. It is believed that Vidya ki Devi maa Saraswati comes on this day and she gives us wisdom and knowledge of music and studying.
She is the wife of Lord Brahma. She is also the goddess of wisdom and knowledge as well as the goddess of creativity and inspiration. She is also known as Vidyadayini and Hanshvahini.
According to Hindu ritual, it is on this day that children are taught to write their first word.

Vasant Panchami or Basant Panchami is one of the beautiful festivals reflecting the culture of our nation. People visit temples and make floral and water offerings to Maa Saraswati idol. At home, people also perform Saraswati pooja by floral and water offerings.
People prepare Prasadam that includes yellow sweets, kheer, and fruits on this day. Saraswati pooja pandal is organised, people visit there and perform pooja rituals. Cultural events, music and dance, and bhajan programmes are also organized.
Saraswati Vandana is also performed by singers. During the fest, processions are also taken out from the various institutes. Kite competitions are organised at the festival.
In Bengali tradition, Basant Panchami is celebrated at a very grand level. West Bengal, Tripura, Assam and Nepal people celebrate it with joy. Many families celebrate this day as their babies’ first writing and reading event. this time is said as the most joyful time of the year.
Hence, Saraswati puja is a festival that brings people of all ages together and spread happiness and enjoyment.
