Saraswati Puja is a great festival of Hindu. this festival is celebrated every year on the occasion of Basant Panchami. It is celebrated with great joy in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and many other nations.

Saraswati Puja also known as Basant Panchami, is an important Hindu festival in India that marks the arrival of the spring season. This day also signifies the arrival of one of the most important festivals in the world, Holi, which is celebrated some 40 days later.

It is also believed that yellow is goddess Saraswati’s favorite color, that’s why many people wear the color yellow to mark flowering mustard fields.

In many families, on this day, wherein babies and children are encouraged to write their first words and take their first formal step into the world of education, arts and culture.

Saraswati is the daughter of the goddess Durga. On Panchami tithi of the full moon of the month of Magha goddess Saraswati is worshipped.

According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated every year on Panchami of Magh month. It is mainly the festival of students.

Saraswati is the goddess of learning and music. Saraswati puja is organized in honor of her. Devi Saraswati is said to be Vidyadayini and Hanshvahini. Saraswati puja is organized with full dignity by students in every teaching institution.

On the day of the festival the priest came at 7 a.m and the puja began. The puja was completed at about 11 a.m. flowers and leaves of the ‘Bel’ tree were offered at her feet. From 2 p.m sweets were distributed among. the invitees were also served sweets.

After the procession, the idol was immersed in water. Goddess Saraswati is worshipped in every school and college. Students enjoy this festival with great delight.

Older people also give full support to the children. Cultural and entertaining activities are also organized by the children. The students decorate the idol of the goddess Saraswati with flowers and the students pray to the goddess for wisdom and knowledge.

The statue of Devi Saraswati is set in saraswati puja. On this day Saraswati, the goddess of learning is worshipped and it is custom to wear white clothes.

On this day children are taught to write their first word according to Hindu custom. Everyone enjoys this festival with great fun and enthusiasm.
