Essay On Renewable and Alternative Energy In English

Introduction
Due to the increasing population and changes in modern lifestyle, the demand for energy sources has increased significantly.
We all mostly depend on non-renewable energy sources like coal, oil, and natural gas, etc. to meet our daily needs.
But we all know that these resources are limited in nature and there will surely come a day when they will be exhausted forever.
Along with this, their use causes great damage to the environment. Therefore, at present, emphasis is being laid on the use of alternative energy sources.
Meaning of Renewable energy, or alternative energy
Renewable energy or alternative energy means the energy that is not polluting and whose source does not decay or whose source keeps on being recharged. Energy is directly related to the environment.
Conventional sources of energy (coal, gas, petroleum, etc.) are very harmful to the environment along with being in limited quantities.
On the other hand, there are alternatives to the energy that is sustainable and which do not cause any harm to the environment.
Example-
Renewable energy, also called “Alternative energy”, its prime examples are solar energy (sun), wind energy (wind), hydroelectric energy (rivers), tidal energy biogas/biofuel (Biomass), etc.
All these sources are never-ending sources on earth. All these are better alternatives to conventional sources of energy.
Need of Renewable Energy
At the beginning of the 21st century, about 80% of the world’s energy supply was derived from fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas. there are many negative consequences of the combustion of fossil fuels.
Fossil-fueled power plants and vehicles emit harmful air pollutants. Due to which many health problems can occur.
In addition, emissions from the “combustion of fossil fuels” are responsible for acid rain. Smog has been produced in many urban areas.
Due to the increasing demand, there has been a lot of pressure on conventional energy sources, so it has become necessary that we try to find alternative energy sources.
Sources like sun, wind are renewable sources, they do not emit any toxic gases and are also available in abundance.

Realizing the dream of self-reliance, India will play a leading role in the field of renewable energy in the coming years.
From hydropower in the initial stages, now the country has started working in hydrogen technologies.
The Hydrogen Energy mission has been launched in 2021-22 to generate hydrogen from green energy sources. LED lights have saved the nation billions of dollars in electricity bills.
As a nation, this reduces our carbon emissions by more than 12 million tonnes each year. In India, by 2023-24, there is going to be 20% ethanol blending in petrol products.
India’s ultimate goal is also to create vehicles that can run on 100% ethanol. From a totally renewable energy target of 175 GW by 2022, India is now moving towards 450 GW by 2030.
Several decades ago, India was one of the earliest countries to promote hydropower generation- the first small hydroelectric plant started operating in Darjeeling in 1897. Solar power was great to attempt with renewable energy.
Initially, the prices were very high and most of the people were unwilling to engage with it.
But everyone recognized the fact that the world needs to move away from carbon. Then gradually the instruments were manufactured in India.
Conclusion
Conventional energy sources will be exhausted in the coming few thousand years.
therefore, the development and use of renewable energy sources and strong willpower for this is the need of the day.
