Sydney McLaughlin Once More Broke Her Own  World Record

Before Sydney McLaughlin, breaking records by tiny fractions of a second required years of work,

And winning competitions didn't always mean changing the course of history.

As swiftly as she breaks the records she regularly sets, this once-in-a-lifetime athlete is eradicating that mindset.

The 22-year-old McLaughlin broke the mark for the fourth time in 13 months.

She finished the 400-meter hurdles race at the world championships on Friday in 50.68 seconds.

She beat her previous record by 0.73 seconds, a stunning margin for a race of this length

And a time reduction that would have taken 33 years in the pre-McLaughlin era.
