Sydney McLaughlin Leads United States To 4x400m Relay Gold

In the 4x400-meter relay, Sydney McLaughlin took the final winning lap of the All-American World Athletics Championships 2022,

Pushing away to finish a US lead and award the Americans their record-tying 33rd medal of the competition.

McLaughlin added this burst of speed to the world record she set two nights earlier in the 400 hurdles,

Turning a .73-second lead into a 2.93-second runaway on the anchor lap.

The final one was especially satisfying because it was the 36-year-old Allyson Felix's 14th and final global gold.

Allyson Felix had come out of retirement to compete in the 4x400 preliminary, earning her a medal.

With a record 20 world medals total, she ends her career.
