A Big Day for Rory McIlroy at the British Open.

Rory McIlroy's amazing bunker shot on no. 10 for eagle sent him to the top of the leaderboard.

As of Sunday's championship round, he and Hovland were tied.

Rory McIlroy was going to be exactly where he wanted to be on Saturday:

At the top of the British Open scoreboard as he stood in one of the Old Course's 112 bunkers.

His drive on the 10th hole comes to a stop in the middle of the sand trap that guards the front of the green, placing him in some danger but not serious trouble.

The second shot McIlroy hit went over the lip of the bunker, bounced three times, and then rolled a few more feet into the cup for eagle. He had plenty of room to swing.

The 27-yard stroke of brilliance handed McIlroy a one-shot lead over playing partner Viktor Hovland.
