Ron DeSantis, Gov. of Florida, claims that Republicans are approaching big business

Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, has been in conflict with major corporations over issues

ranging from diversity training to governance investing. He even challenged Disney, by stripping it of its autonomy.

With the backing of more than 40 billionaires, it's a strange economic strategy

for a Republican, and some have criticised it as heavy-handed and polarizing.

Republicans have a history of giving large tax incentives to businesses

 while avoiding regulations in favour of a more laissez-faire approach.

DeSantis stated that Republicans' attitudes toward big business need to change in an hour-long speech on Sunday evening before the National Conservatism Conference.
