The first "Blonde" trailer shows Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe.

In the first trailer for "Blonde" on Netflix, released on Thursday, Ana de Armas transforms into Marilyn Monroe.

The NC-17 biopic, which is based on the best-selling novel by Joyce Carol Oates,...

will make its world premiere at the 2022 Venice Film Festival and go on sale on September 28.

De Armas portrays the legendary Hollywood beauty in some of her most famous fashion looks throughout the approximately two minute clip,

from her pink "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" gown to her windblown white halter dress from "The Seven Year Itch."

Along with other iconic looks, costume designer Jennifer Johnson (who has worked on "I, Tonya" and "Beginners")

successfully recreated Monroe's tie-front "Niagara" dress and her sheer, sequined "Some Like It Hot" gown.

Marilyn is imaginary. In the trailer, de Armas says, "When I leave my dressing room, I'm Norma Jeane.

When  the camera is rolling, I'm still her. Only onscreen does Marilyn Monroe exist.
