In her first season with the team, Liz Cambage is departing the Los Angeles Sparks,

the team announced on Tuesday, citing a desire for a contract divorce.

In a statement, Sparks managing partner Eric Holoman said, "It is with support that we share Liz Cambage's decision to end her contract with the organisation."

"Liz is our priority, so we've decided to split ways amicably.

The Sparks are still excited about their core group and committed to their push for a playoff spot in 2022."

The four-time All-Star and past MVP candidate played for the Sparks in 25 games this season after recently competing against COVID-19.

Before her departure, she was averaging 13.0 points and 6.4 rebounds in 23.4 minutes per game.

The 30-year-old, who had previously played for Tulsa/Dallas and Las Vegas, signed with the Sparks in February.
