The return of Jacob deGrom to Citi Field makes Buck Showalter "anxious".

Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man" will be playing over the speakers at Citi Field as Jacob deGrom takes the mound on Sunday for the first time in 396 days.

The five-game series finale versus the Braves should have even more excitement thanks to deGrom's home debut, which will be his second start of the year.

Buck Showalter, the manager of the Mets, stated before the team's doubleheader sweep of the Braves on Saturday,

"We intended to try to have one under his belt before he got here, but that's just the way the medical rehab fell too. "

Emotion is present whenever we play at home, but playing here and in New York is wonderful because of that.

Therefore, everyone, in my opinion, slightly plays on that emotion. I'm a little excited to see it.

Everyone is giving it their best effort, especially those who are facing Jake.

There are no secrets, and Atlanta will be prepared, we 're sure. Thus, it will be a useful test for him.
