Prior to the Trade Deadline, the Mariners made a big impact by making a huge deal to acquire Reds ace Luis Castillo on Friday night.

Castillo was acquired by Seattle in exchange for four players, including three of its top-five prospects.

Noelvi Marte, the top prospect for the Mariners, and Edwin Arroyo, along with right-handers Andrew Moore and Levi Stoudt, were included in the return package.

Jerry Dipoto, president of baseball operations for the Mariners, stated, that...

"In the end, we knew that there would come a point when we'd feel like it was our time to go forward since all of these kids are so much a part of what we've been working toward".

For this reason, you effectively build, extensive organisations.

We were able to go out and get what we believed to be the best pitcher available and,...

In fact, one of the best pitchers in baseball at the moment thanks to the talent that these guys bring to the table.

Castillo was signed by the Mariners after competing with many other teams.
