Anitta, First Brazilian Woman to win a VMA Award.

At the 2022 MTV VMAs on Sunday night, August 28, Anitta made history.

The "Best Latin Artist" prize went to the Latin superstar, who became the first Brazilian solo artist to get it.

The momentous occasion comes after becoming the first Brazilian to reach number one 

On the daily global Spotify chart with her song "Envolver," which has amassed over 300 million views on YouTube.

The 29-year-old received the honour from model Ashley Graham before walking the stage

wearing a sensual red corset dress with a breast cover from Schiaparelli Haute Couture's Fall/Winter 2022 line.

The "Girl From Rio" singer remarked after accepting her prize, "I simply want to say for everyone who doesn't know this...

I just want to thank my family and my followers since this is the first time my country has ever won an honour like this.
